The biggest take-away was that specific physical and verbal communication in the context of an instructional safe place is both useful and supportive of our relationship.

WHY USE DANCE & MOVEMENT?
→ Gets You Closer (Literally!) - A little touch goes a long way! Whether it's holding hands, a warm hug, or a playful tap during a movement exercise, touch releases oxytocin—the "love hormone" that makes you feel cozy, trusting, and super connected. It’s like the spark that keeps the physical connection alive and exciting.
→ Communication That Speaks Louder Than Words- Who needs words when you’ve got movement? Dancing, holding each other, or even just sharing space in sync helps you both tune into each other’s body language and emotional signals. It’s all about feeling each other out in a deeper, more intuitive way—perfect for building empathy and understanding.
→ Builds Trust and Emotional Safety- Through activities like trust falls, synchronized dancing, or physical support exercises, touch and movement create a sense of vulnerability, where partners rely on each other. This builds trust, as partners physically support each other, reinforcing emotional security and connection.
→ Bring on the Fun - Incorporating playful, energetic movement into your relationship (like dancing, playful wrestling, or even yoga together) adds an element of fun and spontaneity. It reminds you both to relax, laugh, and enjoy each other’s company, which is key for keeping the spark alive.
→ Deepens Sensual Connection -Movement-based exercises, especially slow, intimate dances, allow couples to explore sensuality without the pressure of traditional romantic intimacy. This kind of close, mindful movement brings attention to how your bodies interact, enhancing both physical and emotional closeness.
→ Stress-Free Togetherness - Physical touch and movement release endorphins, reducing stress and promoting relaxation. When you share this experience with your partner, it creates a moment of peace and closeness, making you both feel more balanced, connected, and at ease in each other's presence.
★★★★★
Just having time together doing a bonding-centered activity was the connection we needed; it was nice for someone else to be leading rather than rely on ourselves to initiate and carry through on a relationship-building activity.
